I then started ideating some of my ideas, and I done this first by creating a mind map and writing down what I could possibly work with when it came to AR and smart homes. I broke them into different categories and these were: Productivity/Work, Security, Food, and Entertainment. This was to get my brain thinking of what paths I could take for my project, and now that I have thought about upcoming technology and also some current competitors and what they are doing.
From all the ideas that I gathered I thought that a home safety detection system was a feasible and interesting idea, and this was the direction that I wanted to go down. I first started by jotting down another mind map with different aspects of the home that are potential safety threats. Using research and also my own thinking, I was able to note down the most common safety threats in the home. The different aspects that common safety threats are in the kitchen, faulty alarms, open doors and windows, and suspicious activity that isn’t detected. This was a good range of areas to cover and I am looking forward to seeing what I can do with it.
