The next phase of this project was ideation, diverging again and thinking about how I can solve the problem of students struggling with managing a routine. From the user interviews with Luke, and finding out how he uses sticky notes to jot down his routine and reminders for the day, this has given me some insight into a potential solution for what my digital product will be.
I wanted to use the idea of sticking sticky notes on a wall or fridge and see if it could be digitised and improved. With the two issues that Luke mentioned being that he has to be in the same room as the sticky notes, and also that he finds himself writing the same ones out time and time again, I think that a digital version of this would fix these problems. The user could colour code the sticky notes in order of importance, or whether they are set ones or one-offs. Essentially I will be digitising a notice board, but also implementing a calendar feature that allows the user to see what they are doing for the day, by organising the sticky notes into a calendar. From what I gathered from interviews and the competitor analysis, users donโt want to sit and manually create a routine, but they are happy to quickly note stuff down, and the app can organise it by what time they put on it. Iโm thinking the app will have a mixture of both quick sticky notes to use as reminders as well as a calendar feature that organises the sticky notes visually, something like Google Calendar.
