In todays class we had a critique of our SDG apps that we have been working on over the past month or so. We were able to share our links to a Miro board, where we could receive and give feedback to our other classmates. I was looking forward to this session after all the hard work that I had put in. I wanted to get feedback on the navigation of the UI as well as the volunteering form.

One of the things that my lecturer mentioned was that I should add another colour to the colour scheme of the UI. This would mean that I would be following the 60/30/10 rule, and I was currently missing a tertiary colour that would make up the 10. I done this by making the navigation bar a dark green, and then whenever the icons in were active they would be the normal green.

Another thing that my lecturer mentioned was that some of the text was a little small. This was the case for the text on the charity cards as well as the news articles cards. Some of the text on it was currently 12px, and he recommended not going lower that 16px. I implemented this change by removing some of the text that was small. This was because the information probably wasn’t necessary, and there was no space for it if I was to make it 16px.

Todays class was super helpful and it was great to get feedback from both peers and my lecturer after all the hard week that I put in over the past month or so. Implementing these changes definitely brought the app up a level which was great. This reminded me the importance of listening to others feedback and giving it a chance, as a lot of the time they have noticed something that I haven’t.
