Today in class we had a critique in which our first two projects were given critique from Paul and the rest of the class. We used Miro to post our projects on a board, so that we could all see each others work and give feedback. Here are my two projects on the Miro board:
Project 1 - Point, Line, Plane
Project 2 - UDHR Poster
First of all was my point, line, plane project from the early weeks. Looking back I think that I could have spent more time on this project as I feel like I rushed it a bit, which is something that I now know not to do. I struggled with this project because I felt like the limitations made it very difficult, and the words that we had to match our designs to were difficult to match considering we were so limited with what we could use. I have learnt a lot from this project and I have a great understanding of basics of design, and how it is important to strip the design down to the basics when starting.
Next was my Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article. I couldn’t choose what design I preferred so I put both in, and the class ended up voting that the top one was better. I think I am leaning toward that one as well, but I like the newspaper vibe I get from the bottom one. Paul gave me a few suggestions like merging both into one and seeing what it would look like. I got some great feedback from the class as well, with people particularly mentioning how they liked the colour scheme.
Overall I found this feedback session very useful as I have gained confidence about my work, also having my work looked at from a different perspective, hearing some things I would never have thought of. I also enjoyed seeing other peoples ideas and what they created.
