Today we had our critique for our project. This was a chance to get feedback from our teacher as well as other class mates. It is important when giving feedback, that we use the what, why, and how technique. This means that are feedback is valuable and gives reasoning for our thinking. Saying I like this and don’t like that doesn’t help anyone when it comes to feedback.

Critique Points

Overall I was pleased with how my critique went, with the main point from my lecturer being that he isn’t sure yet how this app will help with procrastination. I think this is because there isn’t that many screens yet, so it is hard to imagine how it works. I think from now on I will make sure that there aren’t any features that are unnecessary for the user needs. There is also some things to think about when it comes to the sticky notes, and whether they will be a daily thing that gets refreshed each day, or if they stay there. If they were to stay there then they could easily stack up and get clustered. This is something I will have to think about. The brand was well received but I could work on some presentation details such as adding what typeface is for headings, body, and brand. More colours could have been showcased and my user persona could have been in one instead of two.

Conclusion

What I was most happy with from the critique was the fact that the brand was able to showcase what the app does. This shows that using sticky notes as the logo was a good decision. There is some things that I need to work on, and usability testing and further development will guide me along the way. Overall I am pleased with how the critique went and the feedback was helpful.
